These Lunch & Learns are intended to provide information and access to university resources in an effort to foster a diverse, inclusive and equitable campus community; in alignment with the Diversity & Inclusion goal of the university’s strategic plan. Lunch & Learns are open to all university faculty & staff.

Leslie Richardson, Director of the FSU Center for the Advancement of Teaching, reacquainted attendees on the Center; the services that they provide, and the work that the Center is leading on “decolonizing the classroom” and inclusive teaching.

Bridgett Birmingham and David Rodriguez from FSU University Libraries presented on EDI-related resources at the Library, their popular literature collection, the residency program, and how to access and best utilize departmental liaisons in order to find texts and resources, especially these related to underrepresented populations.

Amber Wagner, compliance investigator for the HR-Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Office, and Dr. Jennifer Mitchell, Assistant Dean/Director of the Office of Accessibility Services, will discuss resources and tools for staff and faculty to advance accessibility in the classroom, during events and across campus.
April Lunch & Learn - Office of Distance Learning
John Braswell, Instructional Technology Faculty, in the Office of Distance Learning (ODL) will share ways that ODL supports faculty and staff in the development and delivery of online programs, courses, trainings and workshops. Also, Braswell will discuss how ODL is addressing the development of high quality online courses.
May Lunch & Learn - Enlisting Student Support
The Center for Undergraduate Research & Academic Engagement, the Graduate School, and the Office of Financial Aid will all share how faculty & staff can request, recruit or support students that participating in programs such as the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP) and work study. They will also discuss funding, fellowships, and awards available to students through the Graduate School that allow them to work alongside faculty and/or staff at the university.

The FSU Center for the Advancement of Teaching will present on best practices for returning to in-seat learning in the fall and what we learned from virtual-only learning that we may want to carry forward, even with a full return to campus in August.
